Online Safety Curriculum

The progression of how Online Safety is taught at Henry Tyndale School

 

EYFS to KS2 (according to individual student needs)

The following concepts will be being taught in a variety of contexts which will underpin our students understanding of how to be safe online

  • Yes/No
  • Asking for help
  • Public/private
  • Consent
  • Safe & unsafe
  • Playing together
  • Happy & Sad

 

KS2 formal learners & KS3 to KS5 (according to individual student needs)

Some of our learner will continue to work on their understanding of the concepts listed above whilst others will move onto applying these concepts to keeping themselves safe online. These key areas will be covered 

- our PSHE framework covers these areas in more detail

 

  • Identifying personal information and what can be shared and not shared
  • Understand that passwords should not be shared
  • Internet and technology can be used to communicate with others and who we should and should not communicate with.  Understand that people are not always who they say they are online. 
  • When and who to ask for help
  • How to identify or ask for help identifying which content is appropriate to access online
  • Understand that what we post online might affect ourselves or others and know who to ask for help if required
